My week started out sooo promising. I had exciting plans for Wednesday and Thursday that within the blink of a text and an email were non existent. Luckily I am a resourceful girl and have no fear about enjoying myself solo :) I got off work Friday. Grabbed my comfy shoes, put my pumps in the bag and headed to the wonderful neighborhood of old city.
To my surprise and delight I discovered a wonderful and unique vintage shop in Philly called Culture Couture. It was fabulous. On a quiet street off busy market street lies a small and quaint boutique that specializes in designer vintage clothing. I walked in to the sounds of erykah badu (throwback erykah track at the bottom) and jill scott. I knew i was in for a treat. I loved it! Those who know me know I love to shop. And since moving to Philly I am amazed at how much my style is already changing to more city chic and becoming a reflection of where I am in life. A little more sophisticated, a little less about the sale and more about the item itself... a little more... Me :) plus u need quality stuff to survive all this walking.

For inquiring minds.. I did find an awesome sweater. I wanted to get more but i am a fashionista on a budget ;) I know this store is here.. I'll be back when my cash flow is more on point :)

Many folks know me from my Keyshia Cole days. I would cut a brotha off in a second. Oh he is acting up?? Bam Pow and Done.
I think I need to get back to that.. I'm too nice. playing keyshia cole album #1 riiggghhht now.
So here is the story...
THIS guy cancelled on me 3 times!! Asked to take me out and cancelled 3 times.. SMH. The first time he suggests on the Monday of that week that we hang out Friday.. and then calls me Wednesday of that week and never mentions it. Then when I ask on Sunday what happened. he says.. oh yeah we never got a chance to talk about it. hmmm..... (My red flag should have gone off then..) SMH... here is flakiness example #2 and #3.. same guy.
texting for a date is pitiful anyway.. what has our generation come too.
i wonder if i would've heard from him without my hey text...
This was our last and final communication. Text sent at 2pm.. on the day of the 3rd scheduled date. he has the nerve to say he will call later.. smh. PLEASE DON'T!!!
Who said interns do not have fun. We couldn't find any surgery interns to come enjoy yogurt during lunch :0 Ohhhh the JOY of clinic life. After inpatient services in the hospital where you get true intern treatment... "Ms. Trouble is constipated. Mr. rosepetal can't sleep. " we get the nice luxury of taking a moment to breath. Clinic has its own challenges... but i definitely over slept today until 7:36 am and if I were in the hospital I would have been screwed but NOT TODAY! :) Still would've seen all my AM patients if I had them.. :)

Well folks.. It's been more than 3 months since my last post. Relocating to Philadelphia was challenging to say the least. I was ripped off by my moving company, thrown into the intensive care unit on day one of intern year and realized how much I missed the comforts of north carolina and atl too :)
But guess what... I'm still alive and strong. I am sitting at the corner coffee shop, enjoying the newly coming fall breeze, people watching and enjoying the sounds of Frankie Beverly and Maze.
I recently came off two weeks of vacation which have been heaven sent. I literally have not stopped moving since graduation and sometimes you need a moment of stillness to reflect.
I am inviting you all to travel the streets of Philadelphia with me as I begin blogging once again about my new life as a doctor, my journey into real adulthood, learning more about my finances :0, smarter shopping :0 :0, of course dating..., spiritual journeys and the simple pleasures of Philly.
