Nosebleeds to floor level. Upgrade!

This is the story of 3 girls in med school who decided they needed to see prince in concert on a wonderful wed night. even though they all had exams on friday :-0

It was a Monday morning and the prince tickets went on sale at ten. Chelsea and Aminah were stuck in a lecture sooo it was up to me! The options were 20, 50, 90, 150, 200, and 250. Of course we went with the 50 dollar seats in the top level. Practically saying hello to heaven. (med school budget folks.)

1.5 week later.. we are on our way. Late of course. Chels and aminah had to come from Charlotte.

WE GET TO THE CONCERT!!  AND GUESS WHAT!!  WE GOT UPGRADED!!!

everybody in section 300 went to level 100. Yeah buddy! Section 100. we were in row F!

PRINCE WAS AMAZING. We missed chaka khan.  but Oh my goodness. Prince did all the jams.

Highlights of the night:
- walking down the steps to our new seats.. screaming we are still going down!

WELL FOLKS.. The story ends like this. We had an amazing time! We bought 50 dollar seats and were so close! And PRINCE can REALLY Get down. Its definitely one of the best concerts I have ever been too. That and beyonce. yeah girl is bad too.

Amazing Red Pepper Quesadillas

Hey Friends!

Lately I have been doing a little too much living and not enough studying.. Tonight I decided to maintain that trend and make a new recipe out of my cooking light cookbook. I REALLY need to learn how to use the things i purchase...

I made chili and some really good quesadillas. I'm not sure if its because I do not cook enough or eat a bland diet but they were so good AND SOOO SIMPLE.   the verdict is still out on the chili...

I took white quesadillas and topped them with shredded monterey jack cheese, roasted red peppers (international food isle), green onions and green peppers. ** just make sure u spray some cooking spray on the side of the tortilla that goes on the baking sheet.. They were awesome!  It was so quick. If I have friends over I can definitely whip this up really quickly. Took only 5 minutes to cook.

 

On a side note.. I'm watching love and drugs..  VERY VERY disapointed.  not much substance.. at all.

other updates.. 
-Yoga challenge is going well. Went twice this week and last.. definitely helps my sleep and overall well being. a
- dating life. internet dating has been at a long time stand still. and real dating. u know how that goes.
- school. loving the outpatient lifestyle and my preceptor is hilarious....  we totally stopped seeing patients to finish watching the carolina game yesterday.. and took a victory lap around the clinic. a couple of patients even took the lap with us. and i'm fighting the 3rd yr burnout..

Apparently we were!  Where you might ask.... CIAA 2011.  What is CIAA??  Word on the street is its really a basketball tournament in charlotte. I dont even know what it stands for.   BUT I DO KNOW.. Every time i go. I have a good time.

Tryin to get chose! thank goodness this is not full body. the legs were out! we grabbed the freakum dresses alright. smh..  the year of the 25.. "shrug"

This is how the weekend started..

FIRST. Let me start by saying it took me 4 HOURS if not more to get to charlotte. Supposed to be a 2hour and 15 min ride. There were SOOO many black people trying to get to Charlotte to act up.. It was ridiculous. THE HIGHWAY WAS A MESS.

While not moving on the highway.. this text convo occured btw me and little bro. (I'm listening to Wale for the first time. Bro put it on the ipod before Christmas)

WELL I GUESS I FAILED THE FIRST RULE OF THE WEEKEND.

Just a random mid week post to keep folks interested. A few weeks ago I watched Love Jones (A classic) and this song of course is in the movie. I love this song. There is simply nothing else that needs to be said.

If you are looking for a good movie to snuggle up and watch... LOVE JONES.. u might have to get it from netflix. Grab your boo, a bottle of wine and get your movie night in.

I can't wait until Friday night... I'm watching some good movies... sigh.. few more days.

Lady In Waiting.

Hello Friends. I had to share this wonderful poetry. This girl spilled her heart out. Its amazing how God provides tid bits of inspiration when u need it. Well of course u know I have been posting about dating at 25. And frankly its been dissapointing. I thought newly single would mean full of fun dates and convo. When it did not happen.. of course the frustration and what the heck is wrong with black men emotions came (still wondering.. but not as strong. haha) But somewhere in the midst of that God directed me to change my focus. And this poetry definitely reflects that.
The book I'm currently reading.. I know I know. Forever reading something. Gotta feed the soul.
Anyway I'm reading a book called Lady in Waiting. Its about being a woman of God and about how your life doesnt begin when u find Mr. Right. Its start everyday when u wake up to serve God. What are u waiting for? For your Joy to start once u meet another earthly being. This time as a single woman without a family and kids is when we can give so much to God and ourselves.
